The idea for Kiddie Bed came naturally as we struggled with transitioning our son from his crib to a big kids bed. We couldn't find the right product on the market for his toddler stage. We faced the following challenges:
- Buying a bed frame and mattress was quite expensive. The total cost was well over $500.
- Going to our local furniture store, finding a big enough vehicle to take home the frame and mattress, and then assembling it all was a complete pain.
- The bed frame took up quite a bit of space in his room and we were already limited for space.
- We constantly worried about him falling off his bed at night. We would check on him about 3 times a night and lost countless hours of sleep. As parents, every hour of sleep is priceless, but we just didn't have that peace of mind with his current bed setup.
- Our son was too small to safely get in and out of bed on his own. We wanted him to have his independence by being able to get in and out of bed easily as he pleased.
Due the these challenges, we simply got rid of the bed frame and put his mattress on the floor. This solved all of our problems and gave us the peace of mind we wanted. The only problem was that a conventional mattress on the floor just didn't look that nice. This is when it hit us. We knew we had to bring a comfortable floor bed to the market that was perfect for toddlers and gave parents the peace of mind they deserve. This is where the idea for Kiddie Bed was made!
